Starlight



This doily is 19 rounds and measures about 10".  There are instructions for a picot border or an alternate border.  A third border style is available here- www.draiguna.com/p/starlight-border-style-3.html

Materials

  • 1 300 yd ball of size 10 thread
  • 1.75mm hook

Special Stitches

beg 3-dc cl- ch 2, keeping last lp of each dc on hook, 2 dc in same sp, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook

3-dc cl- keeping last lp of each dc on hook, 3 dc in sp indicated, yo and draw through all 4 lps on hook

2-dc decrease-  keeping last lp of each dc on hook, dc in next 2 dc, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook

5-dc decrease- keeping last lp of each dc on hook, dc in next 5 dc, yo and draw through all 6 lps on hook

2-dc cl- keeping last lp of each dc on hook, 2 dc in sp indicated, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook

picot- ch 4, sl st in top of last 2-dc cl

Instructions

ch 6, join with sl st to form a ring

Rnd 1- ch1, 12 sc in ring, join with sl st to first sc

Rnd 2- ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 2, sc in next sc, repeat from * around to last sc, ch 2, join with sl st in first sc (12 ch 2 spaces)

Rnd 3- sl st to next sp, beg 3-dc cl (see special stitches), ch 3, *sc in next sp, ch 3, 3-dc cl in next sp, ch 3, repeat from * around, sc in last sp, ch 3, join with sl st in first cl

Rnd 4- sl st to center of next sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, *ch 4, sc in next sp, repeat from * around, ch 4, join with sl st in first sc

Rnd 5- sl st into next sp, beg 3-dc cl, ch 3, 3-dc cl in same sp, ch 3, *sc in next sp, ch 3 (3-dc cl, ch 3) twice in next sp, repeat from * around to last sp, (sc, ch 3) in last sp, join with sl st in first cl

Rnd 6- sl st to center of next sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 5, *sc in next sp, ch 5, repeat from * around, sl st in first sc

Rnd 7- sl st to center of next sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, *ch 3 (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 3) in center ch of next sp, sc in next sp, ch 5**, sc in next sp, repeat from * around, ending at **, join with sl st in first sc

Rnd 8- sl st to first dc, ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in same st, *ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next dc, ch 5, sk next sp, sc in next sp, ch 5**, 2 dc in next dc, repeat from * around, ending at **, join with sl st in 3rd ch of first dc

  2. I think there may be a typo in round 18b. In the repeat it stated to dc between the 2dc decreases instead of sc.
