A Few Projects

These are two doilies I'm working on.  One of them is a gift for my grandmother and I couldn't decide between white or ecru lol.  The pattern is called Majestic by Patricia Kristoffersen.  It's one of my favorites!  I'm using size 10 thread and a 1.75 mm hook.

Here is the white doily with a few more rounds completed.  Also shown are some other doilies that I'm making.

These are mini pot holders that can be used as ornaments or for decoration.  They measure 2 1/2 to 2 3/4".  The patterns are in the book Silhouette Hot Mats by Frances Hughes.  I used size 10 thread and a 1.75 mm hook.

A cross bookmark with an angel wing charm on the tassel.  The pattern is called Gothic Cross in the book Marks of Faith Bookmarks by Annie Potter.

Round doily by Mayumi Kawai in the book Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts Lacy Crochet.  It's a great pattern and only 16 rounds.  I've made it twice and plan on making more in different colors!

Succulents and a doily that kinda matches lol

Pink Cosmos Pillow

I made these 4 flower squares a few months ago and was thinking of making a blanket.  Lately I've been interested in trying to make a pillow, and decided that's what they will become!  The flower square is from the book Flower Granny Squares by Margaret Hubert.  It's the Pink Cosmos pattern.  I used Patons Grace yarn in the colors ginger, pink, and natural with a 3.25 mm hook.  Around each square I used size 10 thread to crochet a border.

Here is the back of the pillow.

To make the pillow I bought one yard of fabric and cut two pieces in a 10" square.  Then sewed the two together leaving about a 4" opening.  I turned it inside out and filled it with stuffing, then finished sewing up the rest.  The front and back are also crocheted together with thread.

Summer Fantasy

This doily is called Summer Fantasy by Fujiko Takagi.  The pattern is in Magic Crochet magazine, August 1989.  I really like the design and also the name :D  It is done in triple crochet, and has some triple crochet popcorn stitches in the doily and in the last round.  There are 25 rounds.  I used about 260 yards of DMC cebelia size 20 crochet thread and a 1.25 mm hook.  The doily measures 15" after being blocked.

Doilies and bookmarks

A few weeks ago I ordered some crochet thread and a book called Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts Lacy Crochet.  I really enjoy looking through it and want to make everything in it!  The doily above is from the book and the pattern is the Round Doily by Mayumi Kawai.  I used Artiste size 10 thread and a 1.5 mm hook.

This is the book along with the crochet thread I ordered.  I needed all of it lol.

Working on a tissue box cover/place mat from the book, pattern is by Sachiyo Fukao.

I finished the cross bookmarks this week, 100 all together!

Got a few more squares finished for this doily.  It will be a bigger version of the doily on the right.

Here is an orchid flower bookmark.  The pattern is the Crochet Orchid by MaryJ Handmade.

Charms

This week I worked on completing orders and some small projects.  The picture above is a bookmark I made with a flower charm on the tassel.

I took a doily and weaved some twisted cord through it to make a crochet cover, or small pouch.  Saw this in the book Kyuuto!  Japanese Crafts Lacy Crochet and wanted to try it.  The doily pattern is Starlight with the third border option I still need to write down!

Got these charms yesterday.  Time to make some dragon scale pouches to put them on!

Saw this beautiful Indigo Bunting today.

Also saw a chipmunk.

Ring of Hearts

Last year I made this doily.  I wanted to outline the hearts in blue, but wasn't sure how it would look with the stripes.  So it just sat there for a year lol.  I decided to outline the hearts anyway and am pleased with how it turned out!  The pattern is Ring of Hearts by Cylinda Mathews.

Here are some other things I've been working on :D

Making a doily rug using two strands held together of Bernat Maker yarn.  I'm about to start round 15 out of 19 and it measures 26" so far.  The pattern is Starlight, available for free here.

This is made with Knit Picks Curio thread and a 1.75 mm hook.

Summer Fantasy by Fujiko Takagi.  I'm on round 22 out of 25 and using size 20 thread with a 1.25 mm hook.

Making progress on an order to recreate a doily.  I've got 4 squares finished, 20 more to go!

Pineapple Rose Garden

I started making this doily in March and finished the crochet part of it.  I finally sewed pearls onto the flowers, and it's now completely finished :D  The doily is called Pineapple Rose Garden by Carol Alexander.  The pattern can be found in the book Favorite Throws & Table Toppers to Crochet.  For the doily I used a 1.75 mm crochet hook with Aunt Lydias size 10 thread in white, coral, and myrtle green.  It measures about 17".
